Chinese, Bangladeshi FMs Hold Talks

Chinese Foreign Minster Tang Jiaxuan held talks Monday with his Bangladeshi counterpart Morshed Khan, who arrived in Beijing Sunday afternoon for an official visit.

Chinese Foreign Minster Tang Jiaxuan held talks Monday with his Bangladeshi counterpart Morshed Khan, who arrived in Beijing Sunday afternoon for an official visit.

Praising the development of ties between China and Bangladesh, Tang said the China-Bangladesh relationship, featuring mutual trust, cooperation and assistance, set a good example for friendly cooperation between developing countries.

Tang expressed thanks for Bangladesh's support for China on the issues of human rights, Taiwan and Tibet, and said he believed that bilateral ties would advance in the new century.

Morshed Khan said Bangladesh always values ties with China, and expressed appreciation for China's help and assistance to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh would firmly adhere to the one-China policy, and support China's principled stance on human rights, he said.

The two foreign ministers also reached a consensus on a wide range of international and regional issues of common concern.
