Representatives form the United Nations Command (UNC) in South Korea and the People's Army of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Wednesday held a meeting at the truce village of Panmunjom.

This meeting was designed to discuss relevant issues to the establishment of a transportation corridor through the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) along the East Coast, according to a news release by the UNC here.

During the two-hour meeting, UNC Military Armistice Commission Secretary Col. Martin Glasser presented to his counterpart Col. Kwak Yong-hun a draft of an agreement on facilitating the connection of rail and road lines on the East Coast.

"We look forward to having general officers from both sides meeting soon to sign the agreement," said Glasser. The date for general-level officers meeting has not been fixed yet.

The UNC and DPRK military meeting was a follow up to the recent inter-Korean economic cooperative meeting in the late of August, which agreed to establish the eastern transportation road and railway as soon as possible.
