British Prime Minister Tony Blair will fly to The United Sates at the weekend to meet with President George Bush, his office said Wednesday.
The Downing Street confirmed that Blair is set to fly to America for talks with Bush.
Blair will meet with Bush at the US president's official Camp David retreat Saturday and tackling the alleged threat posed by
Iraq
is certain on top the agenda.
Blair has promised to produce a dossier of evidence against Iraq "in the next few weeks".
Currently visiting his Swedish counterpart in Stockholm, Blair said the dossier would show why the United Nations was right to impose a weapons inspections regime on Iraq in the first place.
"That is material to do with chemical, biological, nuclear weapons of mass destruction and also on the nature of the regime,"said Blair.
As America's closest ally on the question of Iraq, Blair has long planned a visit to America.
On Tuesday, he said America should not fight against Iraq alone.
Blair's words at a special news conference on Tuesday and President Bush's message after facing questions from US congressional leaders on Wednesday have fueled speculation about the prospect of military action.
"I look forward to talking with Tony Blair about our mutual concern to make the world safer," a BBC report here quoted Bush assaying.
Downing Street stressed the meeting between Bush and Blair was not a council of war.
The two men, who last spoke on the telephone on Tuesday night, had agreed for some time that they should meet.
"This will be an opportunity to go over the issues flowing fromSaddam's continuing violation of UN resolutions," Blair's officialspokesman said.
Number 10 says the US president's talks with world leaders prove he is trying to engage with the world community.
Blair has stressed no decisions on military action have been taken, but says the Iraqi problem must be confronted. But on Tuesday he gave his broadest hint yet that he would support the US in forcing a "regime change" in Baghdad.
There are still many questions to be raised, says Blair, including what regime might follow Saddam Hussein.
