Commercial Plane with 40 on Board Crash-lands at Manila
A commercial plane with more than 40 people on board crash-landed at Manila airport Thursday afternoon, officials said.

A domestic passenger plane of a local small airline company was damaged in an emergency landing inManila airport Thursday evening with at least one of the 45 passengers on board suffering minor injuries.

Most passengers on board were South Korean tourists.
Initial reports showed at least one child passenger suffered bruises during the bumpy landing at 6:51 p.m. (1051 GMT), officials of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport said.
The emergency landing took place after the plane reportedly hovered above the airport for over an hour.
"It swerved and landed on the dusty portion on the right side of the runway," Rolando Pelayo, a supervisor at the airport control tower, was quoted as saying.
The Asian Spirit, a cooperative of 36 airline-related companiesand founded in 1996, operates scheduled services to tourist destinations and secondary and tertiary airports where other airlines seldom operate.
