Chinese Vice-premier Meets CBBC President

Chinese Vice-Premier Wen Jiabao met in Beijing Thursday with president of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) Lord Charles Powell and his party.

Chinese Vice-Premier Wen Jiabao met in Beijing Thursday with president of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) Lord Charles Powell and his party.

Wen reviewed Sino-British economic and trade relations, and thanked the CBBC for its contributions to promoting bilateral economic, trade and technological cooperation.

Wen said he hoped the CBBC would continue to play a positive role in pushing forward bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

They also discussed the world economic situation and some international issues.

Powell is here as a guest of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and is to lead a British business delegation to attend the Sixth China Investment Trade Fair due to open on Sept. 8 in Xiamen City in east China's Fujian Province.
