Eight Flights Canceled in South China due to Typhoon Sinlaku

Eight flights bound for east China's coastal cities were canceled at Baiyun Airport here in southern Guangdong province Saturday due to the impact of Typhoon Sinlaku.

Eight flights bound for east China's coastal cities were canceled at Baiyun Airport here in southern Guangdong province Saturday due to the impact of Typhoon Sinlaku.

The typhoon swept most areas of eastern China on Saturday, including the coastal cities of Wenzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Xiamen and Fuzhou, according to local reports.

Two flights from Wenzhou and one from Qinhuangdao, a port city in north China's Hebei province, bound for Guangzhou were also canceled.

According to sources affiliated with Baiyun Airport, such a large number of flight cancellations were uncommon in China due tobad regional weather conditions.
