Eighteen Dead, Six Missing as Typhoon Strikes East China
Eighteen people were killed and six reported missing as typhoon Sinlaku swept east China's Zhejiang Province on Saturday.

Eighteen people were killed and six reported missing as typhoon Sinlaku swept east China's
Zhejiang
Province on Saturday.
Sinlaku, which received its name from Micronesia, touched down in Cangnan County of Wenzhou City at a speed of 40 meters per minute at 18:30 yesterday, bringing strong gales and heavy rain.
According to incomplete statistics provided by the provincial flood control and drought relief department, the typhoon has claimed eighteen lives and six are still listed as missing at press time.
More than 300,000 residents in Wenzhou, Taizhou, and Ningbo cities have been evacuated.
Reservoirs, water locks, and drainage networks have been placed under close monitoring. Floods have been safely discharged through rivers.
China Central Meteorological Station forecast Sinlaku's arrivalon Wednesday morning, and Zhejiang Province had made preparations accordingly.
