Foreign Trade Minister Meets with Delegation of SCO Member Countries

The Chinese government welcomes foreign investors to China and encourages domestic enterprises with the capacity to invest to build plants abroad, said Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng Sunday.

Shi made the remark during a meeting with a delegation of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries who are in Xiamen to attend the Sixth China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT).

The CIFIT is an important forum for attracting foreign investment, Shi said, adding that the special SCO investment forumlocated within the CIFIT will be an important venue where member countries can introduce investment environments to one another.

Sadridin Djiyenbekov, Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry ofKyrgyzstan, said, on behalf of the delegation, that economic and trade cooperation among SCO member countries have a bright future and are conducive to regional security and peace.

He expressed his hope that SCO member countries will strengthencooperation in the sectors of power, coal, telecommunications and road construction.
