With its accession to the World Trade Organization, China has made improvements in the legal, policy, administrative and ethical aspects of its business environment, and is increasingly attractive to global investors, said Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng Sunday.

Shi made the remark during his meeting with China-Britain Business Council President Lord Charles Powell, who is attending the Sixth China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT).

In the process of economic globalization, trade and investment cannot be separated, Shi said, expressing his hope that CIFIT willprovide new business opportunities for overseas investors.

Despite the downturn of the global economy, China has still made admirable achievements in developing its economy, Powell said, noting the China-Britain Business Council will make new contributions to bilateral trade and investment.

Before the meeting, Shi and Powell cut ribbons for the opening ceremony of the "British Day" activities held as part as CIFIT.
