Premier Meets International Auditors

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Monday with LeRoy E. Bookal, chairman of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and a group of international auditors, who are here to participate in the Institute of Internal Auditors Global Forum 2002 in Beijing.

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Monday with LeRoy E. Bookal, chairman of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and a group of international auditors, who are here to participate in the Institute of Internal Auditors Global Forum 2002 in Beijing.

Zhu welcomed the international auditors to Beijing and extended congratulations on the forum.

The premier said internal auditing in China was yet to be lifted to international standards. China attaches importance to learning from and drawing on developed countries' experience in this regard, he said.

Zhu expressed hope that the Institute of Internal Auditors would expand exchanges and cooperation with China.

Bookal briefed Zhu on the operation of the Institute of Internal Auditors and its global forum. He thanked the Chinese government for its support to the forum in Beijing.

He also spoke highly of the support given to the global organization by China's National Audit Office and the Chinese Institute of Internal Auditors.
