China Uses More Int'l Certification Standards
The 66th Convention of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) will be held in Beijing on October 22.

The 66th Convention of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) will be held in
Beijing
on October 22.
The convention would help China to introduce more international certification standards, which were important in world trade, saidShi Baoquan, vice-director of China's Standardization Administration.
The 12-day convention will attract about 1,800 domestic and overseas representatives with the theme "Function of the IEC standards in international trade".
The IEC, set up in 1906, is the earliest international organization on standardization with its headquarters in Geneva,
Switzerland
. It is an authoritative organization on the standards of electrical and electronic products.
China has introduced 8,621 international standards into its 19,774 state certification standards.
The country hosted the 54th convention of the IEC in October 1990.
