Yesterday fell the anniversary of the "September 11" terrorist attacks on the US. Things had all been under normal workings in Capital Airport with planes taking off as scheduled. However found aboard UA852 were a much greatly reduced number of passengers US bound.

On the morning of the day, 9:25 am, US-bound UA852 sold off merely 110 tickets as was told and found most rare for such a Boeing flight ordinarily fully packed, with a seating capacity of as many as 300.

To Chinese passengers "September 11" became a sensitive day because of the terrorist attacks on which they would not venture out they said. But different was a women passenger from San Francisco. She just said calmly when she got to Beijing, "I don't care about the day to board the plane". With her there were also a dozen or so of American passengers arrived in Beijing.

It is learned that Capital Airport has already had a tightening of its security work and checkup on passengers since the "September 11" terrorist attacks in the US. A related responsible person with the General Civil Aviation Administration told that on the 11th all working personnel had been called on alert guaranteeing complete safety of the Capital Airport though things had been carried on as normal.

Passengers had been requested with their luggage along with shoes and parcels to go through various checks in the way all hidden dangers are ruled out. No knife, scissors and suchlike cutters irrespective of their sizes would be allowed aboard. Bulk liquors and the like drinks were also excluded for guaranteeing safety of passengers.

Meanwhile, all working personnel getting on or off must also go through strict checkup on their person and their luggage before taking up duty aboard.
