Vice-premier Meets IMF Managing Director

Chinese Vice-Premier Wen Jiabao met in Beijing Thursday with Horst Koehler, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Chinese Vice-Premier Wen Jiabao met here Thursday with Horst Koehler, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Wen briefed Koehler on China's economic reform and development,and expressed satisfaction with the long and good cooperation between China and the IMF.

Koehler said that despite the global economic slump, China has maintained an encouraging economic growth rate. He pledged the IMF's willingness to further its financial cooperation with China.
