China's Senior Military Official Meets Armenian Officer

Zhang Wannian, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, said in Beijing on Thursday that China appreciates and thanks the Armenian Government for its stance on the issue of Taiwan.

Zhang Wannian, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, said in Beijing on Thursday that China appreciates and thanks the Armenian Government for its stance on the issue of Taiwan.

Zhang made the remarks during a meeting with Mikhail Arutyunyan,chief of general staff of Armenia's armed forces and vice ministerof defense.

Zhang said China paid great attention to developing state-to-state and military relations with Armenia, because that would serve the fundamental interests of both countries and the peace and stability of the region and the world at large.
