The inter-Korea talks on railways and roads reconnection will extend one more day to Monday in order to reduce their differences on such issues.

According to South Korea national news agency Yonhap News, the talks, which have been held at Mount Geumgang in the Democratic People' s Republic of Korea (DPRK), came closer on Sunday to an agreement to implement the planned reconnection of cross-border railways and roads, but still with differences.

Cho Myong-kyoon, head of the South Korean delegation, was quoted by Yonhap as saying that after three days of working-level talks, the two sides have agreed on "almost every issues and are currently working on fine-tuning expressions in the framework of the agreement."

Major sticking points at the talks include the method and timing of the perceived supply of the equipment and materials, which South Korea will provide to the DPRK, South Korean delegates were quoted by Yonhap.

The South Korea has already agreed in principle to supply 50 billion won (41.59 million US dollars) worth of construction equipment and materials required for the reconnection of the railways to the DPRK, said Yonhap.

Both sides reportedly agreed on further negotiations to discuss the difference via an exchange of documents at a later stage, added Yonhap.

The delegates from Seoul decided to extend their stay in the DPRK resort to Monday after they failed to reach an agreement Sunday.

Earlier in the day, the military authorities from the two sides agreed on measures to guarantee the safety of troops and civilians involved in work in the 4-kilometer-wide DMZ on reconnecting the railways and roads severed during the 1950-1953 Korean War.
