UN Security Council to Hold Urgent Debate on Middle East
The UN Security Council will meet late Friday at an urgent debate on the Middle East crisis, a UN spokesman said.

The UN Security Council will meet late Friday at an urgent debate on the Middle East crisis, a UN spokesman said.
The spokesman said the debate, held at the request of Arab Group in the UN, will be convened at 6 p.m. local time (2200 GMT).
Nasser Al Kidwa, permanent observer of Palestine to the UN, said in his capacity as chairman of the group that immediate measures by the council are needed to address the dangerous situation in the Middle East.
He requested in a letter to the council to convene an immediatemeeting "to consider the continued escalation of the

i military aggression against the Palestinian People."
A suicide bomber killed six people on an Israeli bus in Tel Aviv Thursday, following a bomber killed an Israeli policeman at abus stop in northern Israel Wednesday.
Israeli tanks were sent back to siege Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat's offices in Ramallah, just triggering another round of crisis in the region following a short period of calmness.
Earlier Friday, the 15-member council heard a briefing by TerjeRoed-Larsen, the UN special coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, during which a comprehensive approach to peace was urged to reach a final settlement to the decades long crisis.
