Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Wednesday night said that "some powers" were involved in the attack on Swaninarain temple in Gujarat and it was not the handiwork of just two persons.

"In the recent past, there have been similar incidents of terrorist attacks and all these are being directed from the same place," the Prime Minister said on his arrival here from Maldives where he had gone on a four-day official visit.

"This is not just the handiwork of two persons. Some other powers are behind it," he said.

Asked whether there was Pakistani hand in the attack, Vajpayee said whatever happened in Gandhinagar was being probed.

He said, "Intelligence agencies have been asked to examine thoroughly but since both the terrorists have been killed, there is not much scope for investigation."

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Yaswant Sinha said that the attack on the Swaninarain temple in Gandhinagar was similar tothe attack on Parliament by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists.
