A leading global telecommunications provider EADS Telecom opened its regional office in Hong Kong Friday.

A leading global telecommunications provider EADS Telecom opened its regional office in Hong Kong Friday.

Headquartered in France, EADS Telecom is the telecommunicationsdivision of the EADS Group, the largest aeronautics, space and defense firm in Europe and the second worldwide.

The company provides and integrates secure turnkey telecommunications solutions based on civilian technology for the global defence, public safety and civil markets. It also develops secure digital radio networks.

EADS Telecom's Chief Operating Officer Patrick Jourdan said it was a logical step for EADS Telecom to extend its international presence, especially in Asia, where there was considerable commercial potential.
