Kazakhstan became the second country to step onto the gold tally as Andrei Teteriouk beat a field of 15 rivals in the men's 48.4km individual time trial at the 14th Asian Games Monday.

Teteriouk clocked one hour two minutes and 11.05 seconds to beat Yevgeny Vakker of Kyrgyzstan by 47 seconds for the first gold medal for Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan's Sergei Krushevskiy pocketed the bronze in 1:03:41.86.

The first three medals offered at the Asian Games were swept by China, with fencer Wang Haibin grabbing the Games' first title in the men's foil on Sunday and Lei Meifang taking the first cycling gold in the women's 24-km time trial on Monday.

In the men's time trial, defending champion Ghader Mizbani Iranagh of Iran failed in his double gold dream as he only finished in a disappointing fifth place by a margin of more than two minutes. Four years ago, he defeated a pair of Kazakhstan cyclists Dimitri Fofanov and Pavel Nevdakh for the gold medal in Bangkok.

By stopping China's gold haul, Kazakhstan also hope for more titles as Olympic runner-up Alexandre Vinokourov will hit the road in the coming days.

Chinese Wang Guozhang finished in the 10th place, and Wong Kam-Po of Hong Kong, China, winner of the road race in Bangkok four years ago, was in the 11th position.
