Beijing Reports Steady rise in Industrial Production
Beijing has witnessed steady growth in industrial production since the beginning of the year.

Beijing
has witnessed steady growth in industrial production since the beginning of the year.
The Chinese capital's industrial sector achieved 51.61 billion yuan (6.22 billion US dollars) in the first eight months of this year in added value, up 5.1 percent from the same period last year,said sources with the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics.
According to the sources, from January to August, production injoint-stock and joint-stock-cum-cooperative businesses in Beijing kept rising, and the production in state-owned enterprises gained momentum in August.
However, production in overseas-financed businesses has been ona decline.
The city's industrial businesses delivered 18.54 billion yuan (2.23 billion US dollars) worth of commodities for export from January to August, up 1.1 percent from the same period last year.
Of the city's seven high-tech fields, there were mixed rises inoptics, machinery and electronics, technology of biological medicine, new materials and aerospace, but setbacks in production in electronics and information, new energy and businesses of environmental protection, said the sources.
