Chinese Win Women's over 78-kg Judo Title at Asiad

Chinese Olympic champion Sun Fuming grabbed the gold medal of the women's over 78-kg category judo event in the sport's first day competition at the 14th Asian Games Tuesday.

Chinese Olympic champion Sun Fuming grabbed the gold medal of the women's over 78-kg category judo event in the sport's first day competition at the 14th Asian Games Tuesday.

The silver went to South Korea's Choi Sook-ie, bronze medalist of Sydney Olympics in 2000, while Dolgorma Erden from Mongolia andPestonyee Parad from Thailand shared the bronze medal.

Sun said that she won the game after her South Korean rival was given a penalty for negative performance.

She also said that she did no find much difficulty in subduing his South Korean rival to submission.

Chinese judo coach Liu Yongfu said that Sun is much stronger than her opponent and the victory came as expected.

China's Pan Yuqing took the bronze of the women's under 78-kg category.

In the men's over 100-kg category event, China's Pan Song, bronze medalist of last Bangkok Games, was eliminated from the tournament after two consecutive defeats by South Korea's Kang Byung-Jin and Kazakhstan's Berduta Vyache.
