Yang Wei, Liang Fuliang to Vie for Men's All-round Gold

Chinese Olympic champion Yang Wei and teammate Liang Fuliang are going to fight for the men's individual all-around gold Thursday, the fourth day of the 14th Asian Games.

Chinese Olympic champion Yang Wei and teammate Liang Fuliang are going to fight for the men's individual all-around gold Thursday, the fourth day of the 14th Asian Games.

Yang, 22, will start his battle on the parallel bars, while Liang starts with the high bar.

The two men are tipped hot favorites for the top honor of the six-apparatus event, which is the third gymnastics competition of the fortnight Games starting on Sept. 29.

Both the men's and women's team golds were captured by China on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Yang, runner-up on all-around at the 13th Asian Games in Bankokfour years ago, topped the list of the 31 all-around qualifiers with an accumulated score of 57.475 resulted from Tuesday's team event, which also serves as the preliminary for the all-around andindividual apparatus events.

China's strongest challengers will be Japan's Hiroyuki Tomita, who came second with 57.0 points on Tuesday before Liang, 56.5.

Lee Sun Seng and Kim Dong Hwa from South Korea are other front runners for a title.

The competition for the men's all-around starts at 2:00 p.m.(1100 GMT), before the women's overall event, which begins at 6:00p.m.

China is widely expected to sweep both golds on Thursday.
