Chinese Saber Hero to Revenge in Women's Team Final against S.Korea

Chinese female saber hero Tan Xue, the world champion in August but the bronze medalist in the individual clashes in Busan three days ago, will take the chance to revenge in this evening's team final against hosts South Korea.

Chinese female saber hero Tan Xue, the world champion in August but the bronze medalist in the individual clashes in Busan three days ago, will take the chance to revenge in this evening's team final against hosts South Korea.

As only four teams from China, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong,China, were registered for the women's saber team competitions in Busan, China eased into the final with a 45-33 win over Hong Kong,China, in the semifinals where South Korea edged Japan 45-43.

Tan Xue, who lost to South Korean Lee Shin-mi 15-11 in the individual semifinal, will definited meet Lee again in today's final.

Zhang Yongchun, coach of the Chinese fencing team, said, "Chinais a bit stronger in this event. But hosts South Korea will be very tough rivals."

The fencing team's competition features nine three-minute sets.Every team must field three athletes and a substitute. The fencer who is replaced by the substitute is not allowed to compete again in a game. The team collecting 45 points in regular time will be the winner. If no team gets 45 points in regular time, the team with more points will be the winner.
