Wu Peng of China won the men's 400 meters medley on Friday with a timing of four minutes 15.38 seconds, defeating Asian record-holder Mori Takahiro of Japan and bettering 0.03 seconds off Mori's old mark.

Wu, the youngest Chinese swimmer at 15 in the Asian Games, had already won a gold in the men's 200m butterfly on Tuesday, beating another Japanese Asian mark holder Takashi Yamamoto.

Spearheading the race from the butterfly, the all-rounded swimmer was not challenged by others except himself. He occasionally turned his head aside to watch others in the pool.

Mori took the second place in 4:16.63, and Shinya Taniguchi of Japan won the bronze in 4:17.03.
