HK Delegation to Attend East Asia Economic Summit

Hong Kong's Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology Henry Tang is departing Sunday for the 2002 East Asia Economic Summit of the World Economic Forum, a government press release said Saturday.

Hong Kong's Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology Henry Tang is departing Sunday for the 2002 East Asia Economic Summit of the World Economic Forum, a government press release said Saturday.

The Summit, to be held from October 6 to 8 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will be attended by leading political figures within andoutside the East Asia region, as well as business leaders representing major multinational companies and prominent regional corporations.

Tang will speak on the trade opportunities in Hong Kong with China's accession to the WTO at the "Briefing on Hong Kong, China"session on Oct. 8, which will also be attended by Mike Rowse, Director-General of Hong Kong's Investment Promotion.

During his stay in Kuala Lumpur, Tang will take the opportunity to meet with Malaysia's Minister of International Trade and Industry and Minister of Entrepreneur Development on Oct. 7.
