OCA Official: Scoring System of Bodybuilding to Be Changed

The scoring system of bodybuilding competition needs to be changed and make it "open, fair and square", said an official from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Sunday.

Wei Jizhong, chairman of Sports Commission of OCA, told Xinhua many complained that the scores in bodybuilding competitions in Busan Asian Games could not be known until the time of awarding ceremony, which incurred some convertroversies over decisions.

In the 65kg category match on Sunday, officials from many teams

protested about umpires when they declared Haron Abdul Halim Bin and Zaniel Amire Bin of Singapore gold and bronze medalists and the uproar continued until before an award ceremony was held with organizers having to call police into the venue to go ahead with three other finals.

Wei said that the OCA, which has recently studied into bodybuilding competition rules, will give some suggests to the sports governing body -- the International Bodybuilding Federation-- to perfect the rules and regulations.
