FM Spokeswoman on Solving Jerusalem Issue

The issue of Jerusalem, sacred to Muslims, Jews and Christians, should be solved by negotiation according to United Nations resolutions, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue in Beijing on Tuesday.

The issue of Jerusalem, sacred to Muslims, Jews and Christians, should be solved by negotiation according to United Nations resolutions, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue in Beijing on Tuesday.

Zhang made the remark in response to a question at a regular press conference. Since it was a sensitive issue of great importance, any unilateral action to alter the current status of Jerusalem went against a proper solution of the problem, she said.
