Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) is scheduled to pay an official visit to Seoul from Oct. 15-17 to look at further cooperation in the tourism field between Macao and the Republic ofKorea, government sources said Wednesday.

Tourism and gaming industry has been determined by the SAR government headed by Edmund Ho as the "dragonhead" sector in Macao's economy for further development. Officials and economists widely anticipate the industry to contribute to roughly 70 percentof the SAR's gross domestic product this year.

The Information Bureau of the SAR government said the chief executive will also meet with some Korean officials and exchange opinions on consular services and other issues concerned during the visit.

The delegation led by Edmund Ho plans to visit a number of local enterprises before returning to Macao on Oct. 18.
