Chinese female athlete Li Meiju, 21, heaved the shot put to 18.62 meters to take the gold at the Busan Asian Games on Wednesday.

Li, with a personal best of 18.92 meters, did not show her bestform in the final.

"Although Li clinched the title, she did not compete well today," Li's coach He zengsheng said.

"Li won with strength. But she was obviously lack of experiences as compared to her opponents." He added.

Lee Myung-sun from South Korea grabbed the sliver with 18.50 meters while Juthaporn Krasaeyan from Thailand took the bronze in 17.53 meters.
