Foreign-Funded Enterprises in China Over 410 Thousand

By the end of August this year, there were 411,495 foreign-funded enterprises approved by the state, with a contracted foreign investment of US$ 807.598 billion reported and US$ 429.665 billion used.

According to latest statistics released by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC), by the end of August this year, there were 411,495 foreign-funded enterprises approved by the state, with a contracted foreign investment of US$ 807.598 billion reported and US$ 429.665 billion used.

In 2001, tax revenue from foreign-funded enterprises made up about 19.01 percent of China's, industry with a 24.57 percent added value and an exporting volume of 50.1 percent of the national total.

Moreover, the surplus volume of banks' foreign exchange conversion and sales stood at 78.61 percent, 73.6 percent of the net added value of the nation's foreign exchange reserve, while the total volume of banks' foreign exchange conversion and sales constituted 32.57 percent of the same period's total. Meanwhile, an employment force over 23 million by foreign-funded enterprises is reported.
