German airline Lufthansa celebrated the 30th anniversary of Sino-German diplomatic relations at a ceremony staged at the Beijing Capital International Airport on Friday.

To mark the milestone, Lufthansa painted the logo "30 Years of Chinese and German Partnership" on a scheduled flight LH720 aircraft flying from Frankfurt to Beijing.

"Lufthansa appreciates the trust and long-lasting cooperation between the two countries," said Thierry Antinori, executive board member and vice president of Lufthansa German Airlines.

"China's sustained economic growth and World Trade Organization entry, and Beijing's successful bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games provide companies with tremendous opportunities," Antinori said.

"With a long-term commitment to China, Lufthansa will continue efforts to reinforce the service to Chinese passengers and strengthen cooperation with our Chinese partners."

From October 29, Lufthansa will add one flight to its Shanghai and Munich schedule due to growing passenger demand on the route. Lufthansa is the top European carrier offering the most flights between Germany and China.
