Inter-Korean Women's Meeting to be Held

The first inter-Korean women's meeting will be held at the Mount Geumgang resort in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) next week, according to South Korean national news agency Yonhap News Saturday.

The first inter-Korean women's meeting will be held at the Mount Geumgang resort in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) next week, according to South Korean national news agency Yonhap News Saturday.

The meeting is designed to discuss about peace on the Korean Peninsula, a preparation committee composed of women's groups of South Korean was quoted by Yonhap as saying.

Some 370 female scholars, artists, laborers, business leaders from South Korea will meet 300 women from the DPRK to discuss women's role in the implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration released by the first inter-Korean summit in 2000, said Yonhap.

A seminar on the June 15 declaration and peace will be held next Wednesday and with small-group meetings on reunification, science, economy and religion taking place on Thursday, reported Yonhap.

Both sides will adopt a resolution on the outcome of the first meeting since the Korean War (1950-53), added Yonhap.
