Hong Kong Choses 10 Outstanding Young Persons

Winners of Hong Kong's 10 outstanding young persons for the year 2002 was finalized Wednesday in Hong Kong, who, as the organizers say, are models for the whole society to follow.

Hong Kong Choses 10 Outstanding Young Persons
Winners of Hong Kong's 10 outstanding young persons for the year 2002 was finalized Wednesday in Hong Kong, who, as the organizers say, are models for the whole society to follow.

Pop singer Kelly Chen was among the winning list of the 30th selection, which had altogether honored 233 awardees. This year's award presentation will be held on Nov. 7, 2002.

Founder of Sowers Action Chan Hing-wan, doctor Ho Pak Cheong, erhu performer Hsin Hsiao-hung, doctor George K.K Lau, prisoner services volunteer Lee Chi-Kong, violinist Leung Kin Fung, doctor Leung Tung Yeung, actress and producer Wong Chun Chun and professor Yam Wing-Wah are also bestowed the laurel of outstanding young persons.

Through recognizing the outstanding young persons' good works, "we motivate young people to seek further advancement in personal achievement as well as public services," said Tony Chan, national president of the Hong Kong Junior Chamber, the selection's organizer.
