Xinhua was authorized Sunday to broadcast a set of revised regulations governing the export control of military goods. The regulations were first implemented on Jan. 1, 1998.

The revisions have been approved by a decree jointly issued by China's State Council and Central Military Commission. A total of 18 major revisions have been made. The decree will be put into effect on Nov. 15 this year.

Such military goods include military equipment, special production facilities, and materials, technologies and services for military purposes.

According to the revised regulations, military goods for export should be put into a special management list which should be formulated and readjusted by authorities in charge of military exports.

Authorized exporters of military goods are demanded to submit documents and materials concerning their export activities to the above authorities, which in turn should keep commercial secrets for the exporters and safeguard their legitimate interests.

Major military export projects and contracts should be examined by the authorities with joint work of related departments of the State Council and Central Military Commission, and be submitted to the State Council and Central Military Commission for approval, according to the revised regulations.
