Maltese President Guido de Marco promised Monday in Valetta that Malta will continue to stick to one-China policy which it has pursued for 30 years.

De Marco made the promise during his meeting with a Chinese National People's Congress (NPC) delegation headed by Zeng Jianhui, a member of the NPC Standing Committee and chairman of the NPC's Foreign Affairs Committee.

While recalling the sound development of friendly cooperation and bilateral ties after the establishment of the two country's diplomatic relations, de Marco said that he was deeply satisfied with the fact that China always treats Malta equally and supports his country in playing an important role in the Mediterranean region and international affairs.
