Beijing is to host the second stage of short track speed skating World Cup series on October 25-27.

A total of 91 skaters from 13 countries and regions will take part in the World Cup, said Lan Cheng, the leading short track official with the Chinese Skating Association (CSA) on Wednesday.

CSA chairman Xiao Tian said that China will send a young team led by Olympic champion Yang Yang to take part in the tournament.

"Most of our skaters are inexperienced," said Xiao. "They are taking part to gain experience for international competitions. Weare aiming at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics and these young skaters will be the main force then."

"So I don't think China will claim many gold medals here," added Xiao.

The opening stage of the six-stage World Cup was held in Chuncheon, South Korea, where host skaters grabbed nine of the 10 titles awarded.
