FM Spokesman: Non-nuclearization of Korean Peninsula in Everyone's Interest

China believes the non-nuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is in the interest of all parties and hopes the issues can be solved through dialogue as soon as possible.

China believes the non-nuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is in the interest of all parties and hopes the issues can be solved through dialogue as soon as possible.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao made the remarks Friday, when asked to comment on the statement from a Foreign Ministry spokesman of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Liu said DPRK and the United States had briefed China on the new situation on the Korean Peninsula. China noted that their declaration of stand shared an important common point - to settle the problem through peaceful means.

China believes that to maintain peace and stability and keep the peninsula nuclear free is in the interest of all parties, according to Liu. China hopes relevant problems can be solved through dialogue as soon as possible.
