Colombian Army Kills 31 Guerrillas, Paramilitary Members

The Colombian Army killed 31 guerrillas and paramilitary members in clashes on Saturday and Sunday, said an Army communique.

The Colombian Army killed 31 guerrillas and paramilitary members in clashes on Saturday and Sunday, said an Army communique.

The communique said that 19 guerrillas of the National Liberation Army (ELN) died in Bosconia municipality in Cesar state(north) on Sunday.

To establish their identities, the bodies were taken to the Valledupar coroner's department, in the capital of Cesar.

In Medellin, Antioquia state, three urban guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) died and 14 other were captured, including four women.

In Arauca state, two other FARC rebels were killed, in additionto three more in the southern states of Caqueta and Putumayo.

Fourteen paramilitary members were arrested by Army units in Anolaima, Cundinamarca.

In Narino state, near the border with Ecuador, two paramilitarymembers were killed, and two others in Caqueta.

As well, four members of the right-wing United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC), were arrested in Cravo Norte, Arauca.
