CPC Willing to Enhance Ties with Tanzanian Ruling Party

The Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday voiced its willingness to further strengthen its friendly and cooperative relationship with Tanzania's ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) for the benefits of the two countries and peoples.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday voiced its willingness to further strengthen its friendly and cooperative relationship with Tanzania's ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) for the benefits of the two countries and peoples.

"The CPC and the CCM enjoy long-standing friendly ties of cooperation" and the CPC is convinced that the new type of relations of exchange and cooperation will be further cemented in the new century through concerted efforts, said the CPC in a message of congratulation to the sixth congress of the CCM being held in the central city of Dodoma.

The message expressed the belief that the CCM, founded by former leader Julius K. Nyerere, will lead the Tanzanian people to score even greater achievements one after another on the road of progress.

The CCM congress will elect a new leadership for the ruling party. President Benjamin Mkapa has been nominated by the CCM National Executive Committee as the only candidate for the party'snew chairman.
