China's egg industry has won over the trust of European authorities on egg products who believe rosy market prospects could lie ahead.
Clive Frampton, chairman of the International Egg Commission, said the country's achievements in modernizing its egg industry were amazing and he never expected China's economy could be so vigorous and dynamic.
Frampton and a dozen European researchers started a 10-day touron October 19 under the auspices of the Nuffield Poultry Group of China's major farms, egg and poultry companies in Shenyang, Dalian,
Shanghai
and
Beijing
.
After inspecting the Dalian-based Hanwei Group Co., Frampton said he was very glad to see the International Egg Commission had granted the company membership, the first such qualification in China.
In comparison with European firms, Frampton said, the Hanwei Group had a bigger capacity in the production of pollutant-free eggs, whose proportion to total output was as much as 20 percent, far beyond the average of European enterprises.
Moreover, Chinese egg production enjoyed lower costs which, combined with the higher processing rates and smoother distribution channels of Europe, would produce huge market returns,he added.
However, given the transportation from China to Europe was too long for fresh eggs, Frampton suggested the export of dehydrated eggs.
With 43 members, the International Egg Commission is a major league of global egg manufacturers, whose combined output is more than 80 percent of the world's total.
