China hopes Japan and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) would continue their talks on normalizing the relations between the two countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said in Beijing Thursday.

At a regular press conference, Liu said China has noticed little progress being made during the normalization talks between Japan and the DPRK, and fairly big differences still remain. China hopes that the two countries will narrow their differences and improve bilateral relations through further talks and proceed to achieve normalization of their relations, the spokesman said.
