Chinese President Meets With Maltese PM

on Friday with visiting Maltese Prime Minister Edward Fenech Adami.
President Jiang reviewed the exchange of his visits with Maltese President Guido de Marco and pointed to the smooth growth of bilateral relations over the past three decades of diplomatic ties despite volatile changes in international situations.
He attributed the development to their mutual respect, equal treatment, and handling of relations from a wide, long-term perspective.
The Chinese people appreciated Malta's adherence to one-China policy and support for China's reunification cause, said Jiang, adding that China had always supported Malta's positive efforts todevelop its economy and safeguard regional peace and stability.
Sino-Maltese friendship had stood the test of time, Jiang noted.
Adami said this was his second visit to China as prime ministerand he had witnessed tremendous changes and achievements scored inthe country.
The close and fruitful cooperation between the two countries had borne remarkable results in the past 30 years, he said, and the exchange of high-level visits had helped strengthen bilateral relations.
Moreover, he expressed his thanks for China's assistance to Malta, emphasizing that with joint efforts, bilateral relations were bound to go on moving forward.
They also exchanged views on international relations.
Jiang briefed Adami on preparations for the upcoming 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and China's economic development.
