CPPCC Vice-chairman Meets Former Japanese PM

Song Jian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met on Friday in Beijng with a Japanese delegation headed by Toshiki Kaifu, former prime minister of Japan.

Song Jian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met on Friday in Beijng with a Japanese delegation headed by Toshiki Kaifu, former prime minister of Japan.

Song, also president of China-Japan Friendship Association, granted Kaifu the title of "Sino-Japanese Friendship Envoy" for his long-term contribution to the bilateral friendship.

Kaifu came to China to attend a Sino-Japanese painting and calligraphy exhibition to be held here on Nov. 3.
