China Releases Popular Science VCD

China's first large-scale VCD set of popular science programs, "Approaches to Science", was jointly released by the Chinese Science and Technology Ministry and CCTV in Beijing on Friday.

China's first large-scale VCD set of popular science programs, "Approaches to Science", was jointly released by the Chinese Science and Technology Ministry and CCTV in Beijing on Friday.

The VCD set contains a selection from CCTV's popular "Approaches to Science" program which has screened in recent years.

Zhu Chuanbai, an official with the Ministry, said at a press conference today the presentation of the VCD set was a concrete step toward popularizing science in China.

This VCD set has 6 parts, featuring new developments and new findings, protection of the environment, animals, and the life and

work of Chinese and foreign scientists. The entire program lasts 32 hours.
