Musharraf to Take Oath for Fresh Term of President

President General Pervez Musharraf is expected to take oath of the office of president for the term of five years under the recent referendum sometime during the current month as the process of the National Assembly session has been set in.

President General Pervez Musharraf is expected to take oath of the office of president for the term of five years under the recent referendum sometime during the current month as the process of the National Assembly session has been set in.

This was revealed by Minster for Information and Media Development Nisar A. Memon at a press conference here on Sunday.

The new term of President General Pervez Musharraf will start after he takes oath, Memon said.

He said as the election process had been completed and the session of the assembly was convened, it indicated that the democratic process had been set in and all the needful in this regard will be done accordingly.

In response to another question, he said General Musharraf will simultaneously continue to be the chief of the Army Staff and the president.
