Russian Plane Crashes in Turkey with 20 Injured

A Russian passenger plane crashed into ground in Turkey's southern Antalya province on Saturday evening, injuring 20, reported the Anatolian News Agency on Sunday.

A Russian passenger plane crashed into ground in Turkey's southern Antalya province on Saturday evening, injuring 20, reported the Anatolian News Agency on Sunday.

Ertugrul Dokuzoglu, governor of the province, said that there were 19 passengers and 9 crew members aboard the Antonov-26 plane, which was en route Antalya for fuel supply to Ukraine from Egypt.

All the passengers and crew members were rescued. 20 of them were injured while the other 8 were left miraculously safe and sound.

The injured were hospitalized and taken under medical treatment.

The Russian plane, which belongs to the Tymen Airlines, started to lose altitude 300-400 meters above the running track when it wastrying to land at the Antalya Airport before crashing into ground.

The pilot of the plane, Iauri Sokolov, said the weather conditions were bad when they started to land at the airport and helost control of the plane due to a heavy wind.
