Following are the facts of Shanghai Tennis Masters Cup which starts Tuesday in Shanghai:

Format:

Round-robin format with eight players divided into two groups of 4 players each, with 8 seeds to be determined by the ATP Champions Race standings on November 3.

All matches shall be the best of three tie-break sets, except for the final, which shall be the best of five tie-break sets.

Order of Play:

The top seeded players were placed in the Red Group and the second seeded player were placed in the Gold Group. Players seededfollowing were drawn in pairs with the first drawn placed in the Red Group. Each player plays the three other players in his group.

The winner of each group will be placed in separate semifinal brackets, with the top player in the Red Group playing the runner-up in the other group, and vice versa. If two or more players are tied after the round-robin matches, the ties will be broken as follows:

1. Winner of match between the two players tied;

2. Player with the highest percentage of sets won;

3. Player with the highest percentage of games won.

Prize Money:

Total: 3,750,000 US dollars

Round-robin Win: 120,000 US dollars

Semifinal Win: 370,000 US dollars

Final Win: 700,000 US dollars

Undefeated Winner: 1,520,000 US dollars

ATP Champions Race Points:

Round-robin Win: 20 points

Semifinal Win: 40 points

Final Win: 50 points

Undefeated Winner: 150 points

Match Schedule:

Tuesday - Friday: 4:00 pm (local time), second match not before7:00 pm, followed by third match

Saturday: First semifinal at 3:00 pm followed by second semifinal at 7:00 pm

Sunday: 3:00 pm final

Surface: Green Set hard court.
