Chinese lifters who are eyeing more than 10 of the 45 golds of the upcoming world championships have to overcome much difficulties before they could win titles, Chinese head coach Wu Shude said Monday in Warsaw.

Due to a strike in Copenhagen airport, from where the Chinese transited to Warsaw, the Chinese team had their arrival here delayed by three hours than scheduled, with all their baggage left behind.

"Besides the incident, it is quite cold in Warsaw now and most of our athletes are not expected to be used to the food here," Wu said at the airport.

"Furthermore, many of our lifters had to reduce their weight again in one month after participating the Busan Asian Games which concluded on October 14," he noted.

"Weight reduction twice in such a short time will undoubtedly affect the form of some athletes," he added.

"And we have little information about our opponents now," he said.

The 72nd men's and 15th women's world championships will held November 19-26 and the opening ceremony is scheduled for Monday.

The eight male and seven female Chinese athletes will compete in five of the eight men's categories and all the seven women's categories.

About 370 weightlifters from more than 50 countries and regions have been registered for the championships.
