Tibetan Official Meets with Thai Police General

Losang Toinzhub, vice-chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Regional government, met Tuesday with Sant Sarutuanond, police general of the Thai police department.

Losang Toinzhub, vice-chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Regional government, met Tuesday with Sant Sarutuanond, police general of the Thai police department.

Losang Toinzhub said China and Thailand are friendly neighbors and this friendly relationship has been very beneficial to Tibet. Noting a growing number of Thai people have come to visit Tibet toconduct business or for sightseeing, he expressed his belief this will contribute to better understanding the two countries and further strengthening of their friendship.

The police general said this visit was his first to Tibet, and added that he was deeply impressed by the unique, beautiful landscapes and hospitable and happy people. He said he would encourage more Thai people to visit Tibet upon his return home.
