Copies of Jiang's Report at Party Congress Selling Well

The report Jiang Zemin made at the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has become a hot item as the first two-day sale since Tuesday topped 1.1 million copies in Beijing.

The report Jiang Zemin made at the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has become a hot item as the first two-day sale since Tuesday topped 1.1 million copies in Beijing.

Han Kai, vice-president of the Beijing Publishing House, the only one designated by the Publicity Department of the CPC CentralCommittee and the General Administration of Press and Publication to publish the report and the revised CPC Constitution, said, "We've mobilized the best printers and the most competent workers to do the job."

Since the first printing consisted of only 900,000 copies, he said the printing machines are kept running at full speed so as tomeet the soaring market demand.

Meanwhile, over one million copies of the CPC Constitution have been ordered in Beijing alone.
